Leak Detection

Gas Leaks

In order to detect gas leaks with traditional methods, the gas itself must either be in close proximity to the detector or within a pre-defined area. Outdoor environmental conditions such as changing wind direction and quick dispersion of a potential gas cloud, which can be found e.g., on an offshore platform can result in undetected gas leaks, leading to extremely dangerous situations.

The old method of detecting a gas leak was to apply soapy water at each connection. If you can see bubbles form around the joint, fitting, or connection, than you have found a leak. Call in a professional to make the repairs.

Water Leaks

Water leaks in underground, pressurized pipes may make many different sounds:
Hiss or Whoosh sounds from pipes mean vibration and orifice pressure reduction
Splashing or Babbling Brook sounds indicate water foaming around the pipe.
The 'Hiss' or 'Whoosh' sound which often sounds like constant static raise, is the only one which is always prevented from leaks in pipes with 30 psi or higher water pressure. The other sounds may or may not be present and usually they are not as loud. So, we can decide if there a leak by listing for the Hiss or Whoosh sound.
